DAY ONE OF THE” TEN DAY SUPERNATURAL SERIES”

Everywhere we look in today’s society you will notice movies, books and advertisements associated with the spiritual world. The truth is that we as humans are drawn to the unknown, things unseen. We like logical explanations of things that are happening around us, but some of us love the unknown. We are fascinated by mystery, and therefore always have been intrigued by the spiritual world.

There is nothing wrong with having a hunger for spiritual things. It’s completely normal for us to feel this way, and to long for things we cannot see, but know are real.

This is why I have decided to direct your attention to the real spiritual world. No new age, no witchcraft, but the real deal behind what we see with our naked eyes.

The following is a story of many in my life where I saw with my physical eyes what was happening in the spiritual realm.

After dinner that night bath-time began. With all three children in our large bathtub, the noise level was loud as usual. The youngest continued to pour bubble bath into the tub as I calmly asked her to stop. In all the chaos and the playing I noticed our middle daughter was very unusually quiet. She sat at the front of the bathtub, allowing the warm water to flow onto the top of her head as she leaned over. A smile came across her face and she began to sing one of her favorite worship songs. She doesn’t often sing, but when she does I know she is worshiping. I can hear her love for the Father in her tiny voice. I went on to wash the other children, one by one soaping them up.

The water had been shut off for around ten minutes when I noticed Rhema singing louder, as if we weren’t in the room. Her words became slurred, and I knew she was speaking in tongues. As to not disturb her, I continued washing the others who took no notice to their sister.

Suddenly I saw what looked like a cloud of clear smoke come up from behind Rhema’s body. The smoke increased, and it didn’t take me long to see that it was incense coming from her very being. Looking over to the other children, they weren’t seeing what I was. The continued to play and laugh, as Rhema continued to sing. A sweet fragrance filed the bathroom, as I sat down right in front of all my children and just relaxed in his presence. Rhema may or not have been aware of what was happening, but i can tell you one thing, she was completely at peace. Her four year old self didn’t mind that her siblings were laughing and carrying on as she worshiped so intensely.

This is not something we try and teach our children at this age, to speak in tongues. We make them aware that each person, if they wish can ask for a prayer language. We never even push salvation. When they are ready, we are there to help. Otherwise, we let love and relationship with Christ be authentic.

Soon bathtime was over, as I got them out of the bath. Dressed them , brushed their teeth and put them in bed. Not a word was said about what Rhema experienced. I was tempted to ask her about it, but hesitated. I felt lead to keep quiet for this time, I wanted her to feel that is normal for her. It’s ok to worship like that, and I didn’t want to cause any embarrassment.

Psalm 141:2

May my prayer be set before you like incense;
    may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.

Leviticus 6:15

‘Then one of them shall lift up from it a handful of the fine flour of the grain offering, with its oil and all the incense that is on the grain offering, and he shall offer it up in smoke on the altar, a soothing aroma, as its memorial offering to the LORD.

What did this experience teach me? Why do I think I was allowed to see this?

  • I believe it taught me to notice more of my surroundings, you never know what you will be able to see.
  • It reinstated the fact that children have a direct connection to the Father. Their worship and prayers are so powerful.
  • It gave me hope, increased my faith level for more of His presence to come in everyday matters of life.

Tune in tomorrow for DAY TWO of this new series.
